3 Reasons to Schedule Your Dental Appointment Before the End of the Year

It’s hard to believe that we are only months away from the new year. As we quickly approach 2022, don’t forget that your dental insurance benefits expire at the end of the calendar year. Therefore, we encourage you to take a look at your insurance plan to identify any outstanding benefits you have before they go to waste.

While the holiday season is a be a busy time of the year, here are some important reasons why you should prioritize your dental health and schedule your dentist appointment before the end of the year:

  1. Start the new year with healthy teeth — depending on your insurance, preventative care such as cleanings, fluoride treatments and X-rays are usually covered by your benefits. We cannot stress the importance of taking care of your teeth before you have any issues. This includes visiting your dentist in Falls Church at least twice a year so that our doctors can treat any small problems before they become worse and more expensive to treat in the future.

  2. Maximize your deductible — most insurance deductibles reset in the new year, so if you’ve already reached your deductible for 2021, it’s a great time to complete any treatments to make the most of your deductible spend. If you are putting off that filling, crown, or dental implant, you may want to reconsider. You will have to pay your deductible again each year so it may be cost effective to have all larger procedures completed in the same year to minimize the cost.

  3. Feel great for the holidays — if you’ve got money left in your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), use these pre-tax dollars before you lose them. Whether you choose to begin the Invisalign teeth straightening treatment you’ve always wanted, or you want to have your teeth professionally whitened so you can feel confident socializing during the holiday season, now is the time!

At Karen Harriman, DDS, our experienced and knowledgeable dental team will be delighted to walk you through your treatment options, copayments, and finance options with you.

Our team gets booked quickly during this time of year. Call your Falls Church dentist today at (703) 671-2222 to schedule an appointment.
