Why Do I Need a Dental Crown?
 

Dental crowns are a type of restoration (also known as a “cap”). They are designed to restore the function of a severely damaged tooth.

Dr. Harriman may prescribe a crown if the tooth has:

 

• very large fillings

• damaged or fractured fillings

• been endodontically treated

• is seriously injured

Dental crowns can be made from high noble metals (gold), porcelain or a combination of both. Dr. Harriman will determine the right type of crown for your unique situation.
